Why we charge less?

Most Lasik surgeons do cataract surgery and are paid about $700 to do a procedure that is more difficult than Lasik. They do not realize it, but they are subsidizing the cataract procedures with the Lasik ones. I quit doing cataract surgery 8 years ago (after 20,000 procedures). I found that I did not need to charge as much for Lasik if I did not do cataract procedures. Futhermore, more surgeons are paying for their half million dollar lasers one half day a week. This is because they do not put their full attention to the Lasik procedure. I pay for my half million dollar laser 5 days a week, and that gives me an overhead several hundred dollars lower per case, that I pass on to the patient. Finally, some doctors send 20 to 50 percent of the fee for Lasik to the optometrist that referred them for the surgery. I do not have these arrangements with any doctors, and I have reduced my fees even further. We do wavefront corrections at no additional charge. I am against bait and switch schemes, in which one price is advertised and another is charged just for you. Our free evaluation is done with no obligation. If you do not have surgery here after the evaluation, you will not be contacted by this office to try to entice you to change your mind. Many patients have dry eyes and many practices bill fees for simultaneous dry eye treatment. I provide this treatment at no charge and consider it part of the Lasik fees. I charge a reasonable price for superior service. I love my work better than anything else on this earth, and I would appreciate it if you would come here for your Lasik procedures.
