About Dr. Stephen Hollis

Dr. Stephen Hollis is a native of Columbus, Georgia. He has practiced medicine since 1973, when he received his medical degree from Bowman Gray Medical School in North Carolina. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Hollis studied four more years in the specialty of Ophthalmology, becoming board-certified by both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is licensed to practice in Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.

Dr. Hollis specialized in lasik eye surgery to eliminate eyeglasses or contact lenses. He has been a local pioneer in the field of refractive eye surgery. He was one of the first to perform Radial Keratotomy (formerly known as R.K. surgery) in the area and was the first ophthalmologist in the United States to undergo R.K. himself.

Dr. Hollis has performed over 115,000 surgical procedures to eliminate eyeglasses. He is very impressed with a less than 1% enhancement rate with the Allegretto laser, and the superior day and night vision.
